Venue Hire

The Melbourne Athenaeum Library can provide space for up to 70 people for an event such as a book launch, soiree, lecture, or small performance in the heart of the CBD or up to 14 people for a meeting.

Its historic surrounds and tranquil setting in Collins Street is perfectly located right next door to the Melbourne Town Hall. The Library has natural light and a beautiful aspect overlooking Collins Street. Audio-visual equipment is available. The facilities are offered to business organisations, not for profits, and community groups.

The library is located on the 1st floor and does not have wheelchair access.

Venue is only available outside of library hours, which are listed on the homepage.

      

Pricing

Library Venue (up to 70 people)

$200.00 (minimum fee) for up to 2 hours. It can include set up of a small stage (3m x 2m), lectern, and microphones. $100 for each additional hour or part thereof.

Meetings (up to 14 people)

Corporates  -  $50.00 per hour (or part thereof)
Not for profits  -  $40.00 per hour (or part thereof)

Catering

The Athenaeum can supply finger food and drink (including wine) for events at cost price plus an additional $50 cleaning fee. Other catering arrangements are possible but need to be approved in advance by library staff. The Athenaeum is not licensed to sell alcohol.
